


Because of the unique challenges presented by a rural setting, Jones Memorial Hospital has taken a multidimensional approach to retention and recruitment of our professional staff. In addition to a fair and competitive compensation package for the new nurses, the hospital also offers a one year mentoring program for new hires and a preceptorship program for orientation.
The nursing staff is also encouraged to participate in the clinical ladder program for both LPNs and RNs. The Hospital encourages and financially supports certifications in the nurses specialty area, Advanced Certified Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neo-natal Advanced Life Support certifications. As a result, a high percentage of the nursing department is presently certified in their specialty. Several nursing units offer 12 hour shift scheduling and other flexible scheduling options.
