In 2005, facing the increasing costs of blood and blood products, Jones Memorial Hospital joined five other hospitals in Western New York and 12 hospitals in Northwestern Pennsylvania to form the Community Blood Bank of Western New York. Now, more than five years later, Jones Memorial gets 95- to 99-percent of the blood and blood products it needs from Community Blood Bank - and has saved thousands of dollars a year along the way.
Community Blood Bank hosts a monthly blood drive at Jones Memorial - schedule below - but other donor opportunities and outlets are needed. We asking local schools, service organizations, and community groups to host a Community Blood Bank blood drives.
